Bright Geometric Bedroom

January 1, 2019 - Michelle Murphy

MMID recently completed a colour consultation in Massachusetts. The client is a student in her young twenties, looking for a fresh, modern design. Taking her inspiration, we selected the paint colours and tied the space together with some decor.

The geometric triangular wall design is the strong focal point in the room, anchoring the bed as the main furniture piece. Bright oranges and whites liven up the neutrals grey tones, bringing life to the space. The textural pillows and bold patterned rug compliment the soft, neutral furniture.

Did you know that color can play a huge part in your mood, health and well-being? Calgary interior designer, Michelle Murphy, uses her expertise and experience to help her clients pick the best colors for their space. For example, yellow can brighten a room, but it also energizes the space and the people in it. It would be a great color for a living room, but maybe not a baby’s bedroom. A calmer, more soothing color would be better suited.

As you can see in this bedroom, a few neutrals ground the space and the bright pops of orange add interest and texture. Don’t be afraid to add some color, even in bits and pieces to see what you like.

A fresh, modern space fit for a young woman ready to make a mark on this world!
